What Kids for yoga are ABOUT
Every child has a Northern Star inside… even when they can’t see it
Sometimes children feel overwhelmed, distracted, or unsure what to do with big feelings.
Just like the sky can be cloudy, their inner light can feel hidden.
But it’s still there.
At Kids For Yoga, we help children reconnect to that inner "Northern Star" using a simple, playful system called COMPAS.
Through movement, breath, and storytelling, children learn how to:
- calm their body
- understand their feelings
- shift their energy
- and choose their next step with confidence
So even in life’s “stormy moments”…
they know how to find their way back.
We design yoga classes for toddlers and children of different age groups using our COMPAS Framework. Our focus is on having fun with poses not only on achieving the perfect pose. Our aim is to create meaningful experiences for the child to inspire their thoughts and ideas, express and connect to emotions, and giving them a essential tools they can use every day to improve the way how they dealing with their daily challenges
Our approach
We believe every child has a Northern Star within them, a place of calm, confidence, and inner knowing.
Sometimes life feels like a storm. Big feelings, busy environments, or too much energy can make it hard for children to find their way.
Our role is to gently guide them back.
More than Yoga
This is not just a yoga class.
Through movement, breath, and storytelling, children learn simple tools they can use in real moments, not just on the mat.
Because emotional skills are life skills.
The COMPAS Framework
We use our signature COMPAS Framework (TM) method to help children navigate their inner world step by step:
- Calm & Connect – “When I breathe, I am calm”
- Open – “I can choose to feel safe”
- Move – shift energy through the body
- Pause – name feelings and slow down
- Act – choose kind, confident actions
- Set & Go – move forward with clarity
This becomes their inner compass they can return to anytime.
Real-Life Tools for Real Moments
Children don’t just learn poses, they learn how to:
- settle during transitions
- manage big emotions
- release excess energy
- build confidence and focus
- return to calm when things feel overwhelming
So when their world feels like a “stormy sky”…
they know how to find their way back to calm.
What is COMPAS Framework?
At Kids and Teens For yoga we Giving children a compass to always find their "Northern Star": their true self, inner strength, and highest potential.
At Kids For Yoga and Teens For Yoga, we help children develop an inner compass they can rely on for life.
A set of tools that guide them through big feelings, growing-up challenges, and the everyday “storms” of childhood.
The COMPAS Framework is built on six powerful pillars that strengthen emotional resilience, confidence, and self-awareness.
It is enriched with the wisdom of the 8 Limbs of Ashtanga Yoga and the balance principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine’s Five Elements, creating a holistic system that supports the mind, body, and heart.
This is where movement, mindfulness, and emotional intelligence come together — helping children grow steady, centred, and connected to their Northern Star.
⭐ C — Calm & Connection with Compassion
Emotional regulation • Presence • Belonging • Self-soothing tools
We begin by grounding, breathing, settling, tuning in.
Children learn to recognise how their body feels, calm their inner world, and build a compassionate connection with themselves and others.
⭐ O — Optimism & Openness
Growth mindset • Curiosity • Adaptability • Seeing challenges as opportunities
Through playful storytelling and sensory experiences, children soften tension, explore imagination, and open the door to curiosity, confidence, and joy.
⭐ M — Movement & Mindfulness
Physical vitality • Inner stillness • Breath–body awareness (YOGA)
Dynamic yoga sequences, warrior poses, balances, and mindful movement help children build focus, strength, and body awareness.
Movement becomes a pathway into stillness and deeper self-understanding.
⭐ P — Purpose & Positivity (Where Power Is)
Values • Meaning • Motivation • Aligning actions with what matters
Children explore their “Northern Star” what makes them unique, strong, and proud.
Through guided reflection and simple mindfulness practices, they learn to connect with their purpose and claim their inner power.
⭐ A — Awareness & Acceptance
Self-knowledge • Compassion • Empathy • Understanding emotions without judgement
We slow down again, noticing feelings with kindness.
Children learn to understand emotions, respond rather than react, and meet challenges without fear or self-criticism.
⭐ S — Strength & Self-Belief (Steadiness + Success)
Confidence • Resilience • Perseverance • “I can” mindset
This is where transformation truly lands.
Strength & Self-Belief is all about helping children recognise the courage, determination, and capability that already lives within them.
Through empowering practices, confident postures, mindset tools, and uplifting language, children learn to trust themselves, stay steady through challenges, and celebrate their own progress.
This pillar builds a foundation of inner strength they can return to at any age. The kind of confidence that grows quietly, deeply, and naturally from the inside out.
